CORE Part II

Well the core part I finished. And very well done. We have various things to discuss for the next year and its better to be prepared for it.In the coming 3 months we have nothing more to do.Our season shall begin in April

-First of all presently we have 10 CORE members(excluding the present 12th people)and i think we should keep it till 20 only, not mre than that.I think our recruiting should start in the month of April and May.Kind of having an Intra school symposioum thing, consisting of various events. i think we have to keep it open.

We have to do it as soon as possible coz events start in the month of July.

-Next more importantly, about the posts...
We gonna have -3 main posts
1)President XII
2)Vice President XII
3)Secretary XI - Other posts
1)Programming Head IX Above
2)Quizzing Head IX Above
3)Multimedia Head IX Above

hmm Only CORE members can apply to this post.

I begin with it
Aditya Chitral-I apply for the post of Vice President

  3. Hmm...
Select 10 people which you want too after having an Inter House Symposium. Make sure its diversified having students of all batches. Moreover, get a few from 6-8th as well.

Then have a session with them teaching them various stuff in the fields they claim to be superior :P Thats' how they'll go better year after year.

  4. But if you want just 10 more people
and some from 6-8th as well.

We wont be able to get many from 9-11th which we require in the near future..
We might manage 2 quizzers..2 multimedia ppl...a couple of programmers..couple of gamers and 2 juniors....
but that wont be enuf as once we pass out we need tons of good quality people to replace
and we mite hv jst 2 good quality ppl in each field...which is definitely not enuf..especially for quizzing

  5. We need the legacy to continue. Everything should be implemented properly ,I do feel we need more of 9th and 10th pple . But we need to build up for the next 3 years.
Loads of things to be done

  6. I apply for post of President...

    Yea...I know...Even I didn't see that coming.. :P

    As regard selection and all...
I think we need to have workshops for 9th and 10th and only after the workshops should we decide whom to pick and whom not to pick, if you get what I mean?

I think we shouldn't cap the total no. of members...Say we have 20 members, but then we get a new admission in July who's REALLY good at gaming, will we just decide not to take him into CORE only because, we don't have SPACE?

  7. By 20, Adi meant tentative i guess. It can always be -+.
And yeah you need experience after you go, so thats why, after selecting, conduct seminar/workshop once for them. See where you are lacking, and where you need more people :P

More than 9th and 10th, you need from 11th. Anyone apart from Shubham ?

  10. well ofc we dun want another E***. But then we have to keep a very good balance. Talent is not a problem, but we need to scout it out. CORE has to bring out the best.

  12. Push for more intra-school competitions I suppose, for talent-search. Promise the kids prizes or something, so they'll work extra hard to achieve something. And if they're not upto the standards, tell them to improve and hold the prize for another competition.
Won't be bad to have small pre-competition sessions as well, just to give the children a brief idea of wth the competition is about.

For eg., in case you put up a junior programming competition for qBasic, then call all the participants and brief them a bit about what kind of questions they should expect etc. etc.

If you get what I mean, that is.

  13. we'll really hv to take out time for that :-s

but well...thats all we do whole year long....
    take out time..

  14. hmmmm....
how about just going to every class and asking who all are crazy abt computer and spend more time on computers(even if its gaming) than breathing in air...
If there are too many(which i am sure will not hppn) just remove the gaming part....

ppl who r good know they r good...
ppl who win in the inter house events r not necessarily (w/e its spelt as) the one who will continue ur so called legacy....

    That should give u a start.....I think
    -_-

  15. O_o
HTH is my name written as "Tutu"...

    ReplyDelete
  16. is it bcoz u never managed to win in inter house events?? :P

    ok sorry....
but anyway...asking dat question frm ppl wont help us...coz most of the quizzers we plan to recruit from 10th arent comp freaks like we r but their computer knowledge is pretty good......hell most of us didnt spend much time in front of the computer uptil da point we 1st got to go in any inter skool event...

  17. u guys only looking for quizers -_-
    wat abt the multimedia,gaming,pgmng....
these will always be the once who are crazy...

    n btw i prticipated in 2 inter house....won both of them...although one was because of buti(webd) :P

  18. So,what kinda knowledge should a person have to get into CORE,guys!!!!!!i too know bits abt computers!!!!!!!but i have never come up before for any kind of competitions in it!!!!!!!!!!

  19. @tutu (hahahahahaha)

not toking abt quizzing...im a programmer...still i spend much less time on compu than adi being a quizzer does....so wat i mean to say is...dere is NO fixed criteria for filtering the school crowd for core...even if there is..asking the question "do u spend more time in front of the computer than u do breathing?" is definitely not one

    @praneet
its fine if you have no experience..we all started from nil..what will matter is your knowledge and your devotion..both are VERY important requirements...
as far as knowledge is concerned...what exactly is ur field of expertise? gaming? quizzing? programming? or multimedia?

we will be having fair scouting sessions to get the deserving students through. so u dun hv to worry..if u have it in u...ull get thru...
